Join me on this journey through my creative research on “Cultural Fibers”, with an exclusive look into my research diary, my studies on the history of textiles, our human relationships with plants and fiber, and my experiments in getting to know the plants and living elements around me. I’ll be sharing cross-cultural learnings from Japan, Hawai’i, the Pacific, México, Chicago, and other spaces I call home. My work ties in my studies of Ilokano language and culture, Japanese art history, learnings from my community organizing and activism, as well as the exploration of my personal genealogy as a mixed race, Jewish Filipino-American and my complex ancestral connections to land. My goal with this Patreon is to work towards making A BOOK about the ways we are connected across borders and time through textiles and material cultural traditions.
